Secondary interpretation of scientific knowledge in mass media discourse

The article considers the problem of science representation in media discourse within framework cognitive approach and theory language interpretation. object research encompasses secondary scientific texts: critical reviews, abstracts presented on educational organizations websites, news releases sites aimed at net coverage. focuses identifying main factors that determine interpretative specificity knowledge discourse, with respect to conceptual nature authors argue distinctive features highly depend basic principles interaction between author message target audience, as well processes mechanisms meaning construction specific interpretation: process derivation profiling — generalization specialization. They draw attention distinction messages addressing professional or mass audience terms level volume transmitted knowledge.
